Turkish Cuisine – A Cooking Experience
Turkish cuisine is one of the most appetizing and rich cuisines of the world. The heritage of the Ottoman Empire, which can be described as the mixture and refinement of Central Asian, Middle Eastern & Balkan cuisines, results in a great diversity with rich flavours.
The most fun way to enjoy the Turkish cuisine is, of course, to join one of our workshops and cook by yourself!
After meeting with your educator chef at around 10:30 am, you will walk to a traditional market and make your shopping together. During shopping, your chef will also give you information about local ingredients. Then you will go to our atelier and cook 5 dishes together.
Depending on the season and personal preferences, your menu may vary. A delicious and filling to eat, as well as easy and fun to prepare menu example is as follows:
Stuffed Vegetables with Meat / Stuffed Peppers with Rice
Roasted Eggplant Salad
Kisir – Salad like dish with cracked wheat and green union
Pacanga – Pastrami borek
Semolina Halva with Ice Cream
The workshop might either be private for your group or you might be able to join a scheduled group depending on availability. Cooking, followed by enjoying the food you prepared is expected to take 5-5,5 hours in total. All of the cooking ingredients as well as cold beverages, coffee and tea are included.
